Less than 24 hours after the Minnesota State University-Mankato women's basketball team clinched a spot in the Division II national championship game, the MSU men's team did the same by defeating West Texas A&M 79-72 Thursday afternoon in Evansville, Indiana.

Minnesota State is the only college at the D2 level to have both its men's and women's basketball teams play in the national title game since Central Missouri did it in 1984.

The men will face Nova Southeastern at 2 p.m. CT Saturday for all the title.

Nova Southeastern, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Minnesota State were ranked 1-2 in the final regular season NABC Coaches poll.

The women's team won on a last-second shot Wednesday night to reach the title game and will face Texas Woman's University in the national championship at 7 p.m. CT Friday in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Both championship games will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
