Why is everyone in NYC suddenly so rude
The man who wakes me in the middle of the night rifling through the recycling bin outside our building has become a total jerk. He no longer bothers to close the lid, leaving it flung open and crushing the flowers on the railing behind it. If that weren’t bad enough, he scatters the unredeemable recyclables all over the ground, making a complete mess and violating the long-unspoken rule of tidiness between local garbage sifters and the residents they rely upon. The uncouth can collector isn’t the only example of bizarre, petty anti-social behavior I’ve noticed around town. Marijuana smoke chokes you...

A 26-year-old content creator from Brooklyn who goes by the name Clover beat New Jersey model Ava Louise to the chase the day before, May 11, by baring it all for spectators across the pond. “I didn’t want to run my errands so I had a few drinks by myself and walked to the portal to check it out,” Clover, who is also an OnlyFans creator, told The Post. “I said to the dude...

Mother and son DOE employees scammed NYC school for kids with disabilities: probe
A mother and son duo employed by the city Department of Education scammed a Manhattan public school for kids with disabilities out of nearly $8,500, investigators found. Marlene Delgado, 62, is a school secretary at PS M169 on East 88th Street – a K-12 school for 305 students with special needs. She approved payments to her son, Nicholas Koukaras, 36, a substitute paraprofessional, on 55 days when he did not sign in or show up, the Special Commissioner of Investigation for city schools says in a newly-released March 23, 2023 report. Delgado, who was responsible for processing payments for subs, also credited her son...
NYC yet to launch promised school safety tip line as weapons seizures, attacks soar
The city is keeping students’ safety on hold. The Adams administration has yet to publicly launch a school safety hotline promised at the start of the academic year, The Post has learned. City officials previously said the tip line was slated to debut last fall, but no official launch announcement or updates had been made since an October City Council hearing. In March, The Post’s Cindy Adams wrote a column disclosing school safety phone number. The Post tested the line earlier this month and it was answered by police officers on the Juvenile Crime Desk. But when The Post then inquired with...
NYC’s last superhero: On patrol with real-life crimefighter — the Brooklyn Devil
Real heroes don’t wear capes in Gotham — they ride electric skateboards. The Brooklyn Devil is the last of a dying breed: Once part of a 15-person collective of anonymous, self-appointed crime disruptors, he’s now New York City’s last remaining real-life superhero. While he founded the New York Initiative in 2009 as a team, he’s largely patrolled the city’s neighborhoods and subways alone since 2015 — four years after the group experienced an influx of new members following its appearance in the 2011 documentary film “Superheroes.” “I realized most [of the people who joined in 2011] just liked wearing spandex, and dressing...

The former New York City mayor was tripping the light fantastic with pals in Palm Springs Friday night when he was intercepted outside the party at the home of top GOP consultant Caroline Wren by two officials from Democratic Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes’ office, sources told The Post. The pair served Giuliani with a legal notice of his Arizona indictment for allegedly being involved in a plot to overturn the 2020 election in favor of ex-President Donald Trump. Most of the 200 guests were gone...
