Emory & Henry tabs former standout Jimmy Allen as new men's basketball coach
EMORY, Va. (WCYB) — The Emory & Henry Basketball team has a new men's basketball coach. Jimmy Allen was a standout for the Wasps from 1989-93, playing for legendary head coach Bob Johnson. During his time in Emory the Wasps went to four-straight NCAA Division III Tournaments, making an appearance in the Sweet 16 Allan's senior season.

Change of scenery: Spider Football set to switch conferences in 2025
The University of Richmond announced on May 14 that its football program will be joining the Patriot League beginning in the 2025 season. The football team currently competes in the Coastal Athletic Association Conference, a league the Spiders have been a part of since 2007. Before then, UR was a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference from 1997 to 2006. With women’s golf set to join the A-10 this upcoming season, football will soon be the only UR Division I sport not in the A-10.
Thomas Heilman Posts Another Season Best With 52.67 100 Fly In Richmond
LCM (50 meters) Results on MeetMobile: “2024 EZ LC Speedo Super Sectional”. After swimming a season best in the 100 free on night 1, Thomas Heilman swam to another season best on night 2. He won the 100 butterfly in a 52.67, surpassing his old season best of a 52.68 that he swam at the Sunflower Classic at the end of April. Heiman will look to make the US Olympic Team in the event after qualifying for the 2023 World Championships in both the 100 and 200 butterfly events.
5 wheelchair tennis players from Team USA to compete in River City Slam tournament at Collegiate School
Five wheelchair tennis players from Team USA will be taking part in the River City Slam Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Henrico in June. The tournament, hosted by local adaptive sports club Sportable, is designed to provide a high-level competitive environment for wheelchair tennis players. The event will feature more than $5,000 in prize money and is open to all levels, including first-time players.
