Covington man killed in crash in Mandeville

MANDEVILLE, La. ( WGNO ) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a Covington driver dead in Mandeville on Monday, April 29.

The LSP reported the crash happened on Interstate 12 near Louisiana Highway 59 around 7 p.m.

They said an initial investigation shows 65-year-old Paul Dugas Jr. was driving a Toyota west on Interstate 12 when the Toyota drove off the road and hit a tree.

Dugas suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and a routine toxicology sample was collected.
