4 tornadoes confirmed in Pittsburgh area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh area has seen four confirmed tornadoes so far on Friday.The National Weather Service said it has confirmed four tornado touchdowns: near Harrison City in Westmoreland County, in the area of Lincoln-Mount Vernon-Elrama in Allegheny County, on Washington Boulevard near the Highland Park Bridge near Aspinwall and a "brief, weak tornado was photographed just north of the Allegheny County Airport," according to the National Weather Service.It has been a very active weather month for Pittsburgh. Update: Tornado warning for Westmoreland County early Friday evening
The National Weather Service issued an updated tornado warning at 5:35 p.m. on Friday in effect until 5:45 p.m. for Westmoreland County. "At 5:34 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Delmont, or 9 miles south of Apollo, moving east at 30 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
Pittsburgh restaurant shut down by Health Department
A restaurant in the Pittsburgh area has been ordered closed due to multiple violations after an inspection by the Allegheny County Health Department. Inspectors found 16 violations during an inspection of El Paisano & BBQ Stand in Beechview.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -This is a May for the record books, surpassing the super tornado outbreak in 1985 with the most tornados on record for May, and it's only May 7. This is the first tornado in city limits since 1998 when an EF-1 touched down in Highland Park with winds at 105mph.The region started off Saturday with widespread rain and a Flash Flood Warning in Allegheny County. In just 4 hours, areas picked up an additional 1-2" on top of the 1-2" of rainfall yesterday. Keep in mind, an isolated thunderstorm can't be ruled out later this afternoon and evening. We do dry out a bit through the afternoon with some sunshine and highs today will stay in the mid-70s.
