On the main stretch of downtown Madras a new shop has opened to offer children’s and women’s clothing resale.

The Wild Tribe is not Jamie and Steven Siers’ first store of the kind. Jamie has opened others in the past, including one in Prineville. She sold that business when they moved but decided to open a store in Madras when she returned.

“It’s really a need I see in the community,” said Jamie Siers. “I know how fast kids grow, and how expensive children’s clothing can get. There is not really anywhere in town to find children’s clothes.”

Siers has five children, ranging from early teenagers to a eight month old. She’s seen how quickly kids grow and need new clothes, and found she liked the clothing trade-in style for her own children.

“When I was introduced to it I just loved it,” said Siers. “Even when I did not have a budget for new clothes, I could bring in what they had outgrown and get something new to me that fit them well.”

Siers takes clothes in good condition for kids of all ages, and even women’s clothing. You can trade in clothes for store credit.

They take appointments for clothing to be accepted into the store. It’s sorted, and 50% of the price of the clothes goes back to the seller in store credit. Clothes should be folded and clean when brought it.

Jamie is strict about the quality of her goods. No stains, rips, tears, or wear allowed. The store is full of children’s clothing of all varieties and ages, along with a few toys and other children’s items, furniture, and accessories. One wall of the shop also holds women’s clothing and shoes.

The couple grew up in Central Oregon, Steven in Madras, and said their knowledge of the community promoted them to open the business. “It’s a huge need and keeps everyone from making the drive to Redmond or Bend for children’s clothing. It saves money, gas, and time most people don’t have extra of,” said Steven.

The shop is located at 230 SW Fifth Street in Madras. They plan to be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
