    Woman pulled from Lake Mendota last week has died

    MADISON, Wis. -- A woman who Madison Fire Department crews pulled from Lake Mendota early Friday morning has died, the Madison Police Department said Tuesday.

    Crews were called to the lakeshore near Iota Court just before 4:30 a.m. after people nearby heard the woman yelling. She was brought to shore and paramedics began lifesaving measures before taking her to a hospital.

    Police said Tuesday that the woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. They did not say when the pronouncement was made.

    Detectives are still trying to determine how the woman entered the water. Police said nothing suspicious was found at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
