Dane County seat belt enforcement campaign nets 45 citations

MADISON, Wis. -- Keeping the roads safe is a priority for police and other first responder agencies.

The Law Enforcement Group of the Dane County Traffic Safety Commission completed a county-wide education and enforcement campaign March 17 - 27, 2024.

Law enforcement issued 45 tickets for seat belt violations.

In addition, officers made 509 traffic stops, issuing 150 citations or warnings for speeding. Two were arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and other citations were issued for driving without a license or other unrelated violations.

The TSC used the event to remind the public of the risks and consequences of not wearing seat belts.
