MADISON – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds anglers the 2024 northern zone muskellunge (musky) season begins May 25 and runs through Dec. 31. The City of Verona Common Council plans to continue discussions on allowing sidewalk cafes in the area while keeping safety at the forefront. During a Monday, May 13 council meeting, alders took no action on an ordinance that would allow businesses to apply for sidewalk cafe permits. Sidewalk cafes, which were common during the COVID-19 pandemic, allow food and drink businesses to operate on public sidewalks under certain conditions.
