JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A Mississippi man is dead and two others are injured, including a toddler, following a crash that occurred in Jefferson County last week.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), around 2 p.m. on March 22, Jamaiyia G. Foote of Macon, Mississippi, was fatally injured when the tractor-trailer that he was driving collided with a truck driven by Rafael Andablo, 49, of Harlingen, Texas. The crash happened on Interstate 59 near Jaybird Road, north of Hueytown.

Foote, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prior to impact, ALEA said the truck driven by Andablo left the roadway, struck a cable barrier and went airborne. Andablo was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was ejected.
