TWIN TIERS OF N.Y. & Pa. (WETM) – More than 1000 homes in the Twin Tiers have reported being without power Thursday morning after extreme weather swept the region overnight. According to statistics from New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG), Penelec and Claverack, over 1000 customers have reported power outages across the Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

Seneca County files for disaster assistance after tornadoes touch down

Seneca County has filed for state and federal disaster assistance after the National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes touched down in the county Wednesday. The strongest was an EF2 with winds topping 100 miles per hour that whipped through the Seneca County town of Fayette. The other one was an EF1 in Waterloo.
