Members of the South Lafourche High School Class of '68 gathered on Saturday, April 12th at The Rendezvous in Thibodaux to honor one of their own, Ron Estay. Ron was a standout defensive Lineman for the Tarpons in '66 and ’67 and went on to achieve All-American status at LSU, and then The Canadian Football League, where, during his career, he played in nine "Grey Cups", the equivalent of our Super Bowl.

St. Amant 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame class announced
St. Amant High School will induct the 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame class during a series of events scheduled for December, Principal Christina Carter said. Inductees are outstanding athletes, coaches and contributors/volunteers from across the spectrum of sports in the history of St. Amant High. The Hall of Fame includes standouts from the “old school” St. Amant Wildcats as well as the current St. Amant High School that opened its doors to students in 1978.
23rd Judicial District reports guilty pleas for May 6-10
The 23rd Judicial District Attorney's Office, which includes the parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James, reported guilty pleas during the week of May 6-10. Anshjay Bourgeois, 13177 Melissa Heights Gonzales, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
