Jason Ruschioni won plenty of golf tournaments with his father, Jim, one of the most successful amateur golfers in Massachusetts for the last several decades. They finished first in the Mass. Four-Ball, the Mass. Father-Son and the Wachusett Four-Ball twice each. They won the Pleasant Valley Labor Day Four-Ball, the Crumpin-Fox Father’s Day Two-Ball and the Eastern States Four-Ball at Oak Ridge CC four times in a row. They prevailed in the Father-Son at Oak Hill CC in Fitchburg about 15 times.
Man charged with theft of $13,000 in beauty supplies from Nashua store
NASHUA — A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with the theft of over $13,000 worth of beauty supplies from an Ulta Beauty store in Nashua, police said. Mohammed Diaby, 21, was taken into custody on May 14 after a lengthy investigation into the Nov. 20 theft at the Ulta Beauty location on 258 Daniel Webster Hwy.

Lawrence bags state title
The Warriors won it all! Lawrence Academy rallied back after suffering a Game Two setback to run-rule Kerr-Vance Academy and win the NCISAA State Championship. Senior Zander Mizelle raced home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth frame to establish Lawrence's 10-0 victory. Lawrence had won Game One on Friday evening before KVA forced the third and deciding contest. Lawence finished the season 22-7. More details to come.

Gardner-area track and field teams participated in league championship meets this week. Quabbin and Oakmont competed in the Mid-Wach C meet, Gardner in Mid-Wach D and Narragansett and Murdock were in the Mid-Wach E meet. Monty Tech, part of the Colonial Athletic League, will compete in its league meet on May 20.

Steward Health Care confirms intent to sell Nashoba Valley Medical Center
In a late Wednesday filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Steward Health Care laid out a timeline and “global bidding and auction procedures” to govern the sale of its hospitals and other assets, including the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. The document confirms for the first time Steward’s intent to sell the hospital, but does not rule out a decision to close it.
