Food Whisperer: Farm-to-table comfort food at Fourth & Field in Stow
When I was a girl, my dad had his private pilot’s license and part ownership in a small Cessna for a while. There was a stretch of time when he’d rotate through the five siblings, taking each up on a Sunday morning plane ride, where we usually flew over our home. A great memory (perhaps helped by the doughnuts we got to have on our way to the airfield). Hopedale is one airport location that sticks in my head; I don’t recall Minute Man Air Field in Stow being a departure point, but maybe it was. In any case, my ears perked up years ago when someone mentioned a restaurant at the airfield in Stow. My family took me for brunch one Mother’s Day. The place was buzzing; I remember the brunch being very tasty. It was a happy flashback to see all the small planes tethered and watch a few take off.

Resident asks fire chief to cancel live fire training in Still River
Will the Harvard Select Board order our fire chief to permanently cancel the plan to demolish by burning the house next to the Still River village fire station? The fire will be exceedingly close to two banks of evergreen trees and the home next door. Although I am certain that the fire chief presumes all precautions will be taken, all it will take is one mistake to cause a massive fire in Still River.

Motorists experienced significant delays early this morning following a crash on I-495 Northbound at Exit 80 in Westford. The incident, which occurred just as rush hour was starting to build, led to the closure of the left lane and slow-moving traffic as commuters navigated around the obstruction. Devens water connection bids $1.3 million over budget
Bids for the water main portion of the project to connect Harvard to the Devens public water system were opened April 16, and the news was not good. With the bids for the project over budget, town officials will need to schedule a Special Town Meeting and election to increase funding before bids expire June 30, ask bidders to extend their bids, or start the project with the funds it has and hope the state will increase its low-interest loan to cover the overage.
