Family seeking justice after baby dies from car crash involving a deputy
DEMING, N.M. — A family is mourning the loss of their son after police say he died in a car crash involving a Luna County Sheriff's deputy. On Nov. 11, 2023, Deputy Paul Garcia and Deputy Clinton Garner responded to a call of a burglary in Deming. On the way to the burglary, dash cam footage shows the deputies eventually reaching about 130 miles per hour while on the highway. Moments later, police say the patrol car crashed into another vehicle while driving south on the northbound lane.
