Proposed bill would increase driver’s license fees in Louisiana
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A bill that would increase Louisiana’s driver’s license fee has been approved by the House Committee on Appropriations. HB447 states drivers who apply for a new license or renew the current one, will see an increase in the fees by about $6 per license. This goes for each driver’s license class. The increase will allocate funds to multiple programs in the state such as litter cleanup and the Louisiana State Police Retirement Fund.
