Police on Thursday announced a man was arrested in Snyder in connection to a deadly shooting last month in Lubbock's Depot Entertainment District.

According to Lubbock police, officers were initially called at 1:57 a.m. April 21 for reports of shots fired in the 2200 block of Interstate 27, according to a statement from LPD.

Upon arrival, officers located Lorenzo Soto, 34, with a gunshot wound. Soto was taken via ambulance to University Medical Center, where he later died. Police believe multiple people were involved in a physical altercation inside the club, which was broken up by security staff.

All the involved individuals were removed from the club and a second confrontation began outside, ending in a shooting near 22nd Street and Crickets Avenue.

Through a coordinated effort with the Texas Anti-Gang Center, LPD was able to arrest Doroteo Alonso, 26, in the 300 block of 31st Street in Snyder at 7:50 p.m. on May 15.

According to police, Alonso was taken to the Scurry County Jail, where he was booked and charged with murder. He is currently held on a $300,000 bond.
