SLE's Taytum Goodman, Liberty boys golf voted A-J athletes of the week

Taytum Goodman, Sr., Springlake-Earth

After rewriting the record books for four years, Springlake-Earth's Taytum Goodman closed her historic career by winning the Class 1A athlete of the meet at the UIL state track and field meet last week. She took gold in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs and added a silver in the 800. She received 59.63% of the vote to be named female athlete of the week.

Lubbock-Cooper Liberty boys golf

For making history, it's only fitting to reward the entire team. The Lubbock-Cooper Liberty boys golf team took home the Class 3A state championship in last week's meet in the school's inaugural season. Reed Blacklock was the individual state champion while members Colton Bichard, Lane Lewis and Jackson Ballou contributed to the win. The unit received 62.88% of the vote to garner boys athlete(s) of the week.
