Honor the fallen | Memorial for task force officer killed in Charlotte shooting
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte community will gather in Uptown on Monday to say its final goodbyes to one of the four officers killed in a shooting last month. U.S. Marshals Task Force Officer Sam Poloche was killed on April 29 when investigators were serving warrants at a home in east Charlotte. Five other officers were hurt during the shootout, including four Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers.
Charlotte day care worker accused of putting 4-year-old in headlock, beating her
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte day care worker was arrested on allegations that she put a 4-year-old in a headlock. Investigators allege Amber Pride Porter put the child in a headlock and started beating her at the Children of America day care center on Ben Craig Drive in northeast Charlotte. The alleged incident happened on May 8, according to police.
A look at combatting domestic violence in Gaston County
Combating domestic violence has been Bea Cote's life for 25 years.
