Old people enjoy condemning the sins of the young primarily because we no longer have the energy to commit them ourselves. Apparently, one of those “sins" in our time is political activism on college campuses. Those of us who are long in the tooth, overburdened with demanding jobs, mortgages and family obligations, may be tempted to find fault with the young as they seek to exercise their First Amendment rights: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom to petition the government to redress their grievances. Nevertheless, they persist.
