Troy, NY (WRGB) — Friday, Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello praised the city's Public Utilities Crew for a sweet spring rescue. Inside the city's Frear Park city employees rescued a gaggle of baby ducklings by removing the cover from the storm drain, scooping them out and returning them to the parents.
Disability rights advocate says state senator with violent history shoved him at New York Capitol
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A disability rights advocate made a complaint to New York State Police saying he was shoved twice in the state capitol building by state Sen. Kevin Parker, a Brooklyn Democrat with a history of violent behavior. Michael Carey said his confrontation with Parker took place Wednesday after he approached the senator before a committee meeting and asked him to cosponsor a piece of legislation. Parker lost his temper, Carey said, after the advocate described the legislation as tackling a “Dr. Martin Luther King type of situation” regarding discrimination against people with disabilities. Carey said the senator got inches from his face and yelled “I don’t care.” Carey, who became an advocate after his son Jonathan died while in state care, said he responded “You don’t care that my son died?”

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — A Capital Region family favorite returns to Albany's St. Sophia Church Friday to Sunday- the 52nd annual Greek Festival. The festival kicks off Friday at 6 p.m., with over 35 local vendors, bounce houses, live music and dancing. Children 12 and under are free and $5 for an adult day ticket. Four juveniles arrested in separate Cohoes crimes
Cohoes Police have arrested four juveniles in two separate incidents on Wednesday. Officers responded to the area of Imperial Avenue around 11:40 a.m. for a report of two juveniles attempting to steal a vehicle. A witness told police they tried to get in and start the engine without a key. They left on foot into a wooded area. Following a brief search, officers arrested two 15-year-olds. They are facing a potential charge of grand larceny.

Teen arrested after 'menacing officers' with a BB gun
A 13-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday night after police said he pulled a BB gun on them. Tuesday just before 7 p.m., officers responded to Hoffman Park in Albany for reports of a person with a weapon. According to police, when officers arrived a boy matching the description and he was given commands to stop.
