For a second consecutive year , Drake leads the nominations list for the upcoming BET Awards on June 30. His longtime colleague, and fellow rapper, Nicki Minaj follows with six nominations. GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey and Victoria Monét are set to deliver live performances for the show.

The pair overlap in the biggest categories of the evening, including album of the year, video of the year and best collaboration. Drake and Minaj are also up for best male and female hip hop artist, respectively. Winners for the BET Awards will be revealed during a live ceremony in Los Angeles. This year’s theme is “Standing on Culture.”

Shaboozey, one of the many Black country stars featured on Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter,” is currently enjoying the first Top 10 single of his career with the success of his own “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Meanwhile, Monét has been riding high off a big Grammys moment thanks to the success of “Jaguar II,” which won a Grammy in February for best R&B album. The latter is up for album of the year, along with Chris Brown’s “11:11,” Gunna’s “A Gift & A Curse,” 21 Savage’s “American Dream,” Usher’s “Coming Home,” Drake’s “For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition)” and Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2.”

Other notable nominees include J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, and Monét, who have five nominations each. 21 Savage, Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla and Usher are tied with four nominations each.

Nominations were selected by the BET Voting Academy, aka a group of entertainment professionals and influencers in the fields of music, media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and creative arts.

Connie Orlando, executive vice president of music programming and music strategy, will oversee and executive produce the annual show, with Jamal Noisette, senior VP of tentpoles and music community engagement. Jesse Collins Entertainment is the production company for the show, with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harm and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay also serving as executive producers.
