ESPN NBA Insider Shares Major LA Lakers Draft Prediction

LeBron James might soon get his wish.

ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst appeared on Monday morning's "Get Up" following news that Bronny James, LeBron's son, was medically cleared by an NBA panel to play in the league and is expected to remain in the 2024 NBA Draft.

According to Windhorst, the idea of the Lakers drafting Bronny isn't far-fetched.

"If the Lakers have an opportunity to draft Bronny James, they will do so," Windhorst declared.

LeBron has previously expressed on multiple occasions his desire to play professionally with his son, and any team considering pursuing the NBA's all-time leading scorer in free agency could become much more attractive by adding Bronny in the draft a week before free agency begins.

LeBron has a $51.4 million player option for the 2024-25 season, and many expect him to decline, although that could change if the Lakers add his son during the draft on June 26 and 27. The deadline for LeBron to decline his option is June 29.
