Anthony Davis Weighs In On LeBron James' Future With Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are headed home with an offseason full of decisions to be made.

On Monday night, the Denver Nuggets advanced to the second round as they defeated the Lakers in Game 5 of the NBA playoffs.

Many people are speculating on what LeBron will do next. Will he return to the Lakers? Will he retire? Will he go to another team?

After the game, forward Anthony Davis weighed in on LeBron's future with the team.

“He’s been in this position numerous times in his career where he had to make a decision ultimately for himself or his family. I’ll be right there to support him whatever he decides to do," Davis said.

LeBron has made many career altering decisions, such as leaving Cleveland for Miami, going back to Cleveland, and leaving once again for Los Angeles.

Davis continued "I’m not sure. I don’t know. It’s still fresh. I’m pretty sure it’s not even on his mind right now. Pretty sure he’ll talk to me, tell me what’s going on before he becomes public with the decision. He’ll keep me in the loop."

LeBron and Davis have played five seasons together for the Lakers. They won a title together in 2020 during the bubble season.

"Obviously has been a great five seasons with him. If he does decide to come back obviously this isn’t where we want to be left at, losing in the first round. If he does obviously our goal is to come back and be a championship contender, stay healthy and give Laker Nation what they deserve."

"But he has a decision to make and when that time comes he’ll inform me," Davis finished.

The Lakers are in for a long offseason as they await a decision on LeBron's future.
