The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly planning on calling up top pitching prospect Landon Knack to pitch this week, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

The Dodgers need a starting pitcher with right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller on the injured list with a shoulder issue, and it appears they’ll be bringing up their No. 13 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline in Knack.

Knack, 26, was drafted in the second round of the 2020 MLB Draft. He worked his way up the minor leagues, and was in Triple-A by the end of last season.

Knack had a combined 2.51 ERA in 22 starts across Double-A and Triple-A last year, and had 99 strikeouts to 30 walks.

This year, he’s opened the season in Triple-A with a 4.02 ERA in three starts, but with the injury to Miller, the Dodgers need someone who can provide length.

Knack was expected to make his MLB debut at some point this season, and it’s looking like it’ll be this week. Tyler Glasnow is getting the nod on Monday, and the Dodgers are yet to name their starter for Tuesday, which would have been Miller’s spot in the rotation.

According to Ardaya, the Dodgers are also expected to call up Ricky Vanasco, a reliever who has a 2.25 ERA in four outings this year at Triple-A. He’s also three-for-three in save opportunities.

The 25-year-old is yet to make his MLB debut, too.
