    By Marc Sternfield,

A worker died when he was crushed by a forklift in Los Angeles’ Bel Air neighborhood on Monday, officials said.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. at a construction site between homes in the 900 block of North Moraga Drive, where L.A. city firefighters responded to reports of a person trapped under a forklift carrying steel rebar.

Crews determined the man was “beyond medical help” and had succumbed to his injuries, LAFD said.
