North Pasco Sports Notebook: Pasco High in Race to Playoffs
DADE CITY — For the first time in a long time, the Pasco High football team is in a playoff race and about to play its first truly big game in several years. Under first-year coach Cortez Stubbs, the Pirates have won their last three games (including last Friday night’s 35-2 victory against Cypress Creek), to put their record at 4-3. Of equal importance, they’re 2-1 in Class 4A-District 8 play. Pasco, which has already doubled its win total for the last two seasons, is squarely in the middle of the playoff race and Friday night’s home game against River Ridge (4-2 and 2-1 in district play) is critical for both teams.
