LODI — Lake Mills’ softball team opened up a one game lead in the Capitol North by routing host Lodi 13-0 in five innings on Friday, May 3.

The L-Cats (16-2, 5-1 in conference), who lost 6-5 to the Blue Devils on April 23, tallied 16 hits and had three players — Savannah Radtke, Ava Kleinfeldt and Taylor Wollin — who had three hits apiece. Radtke scored four runs and Kleinfeldt drove in five, plus pitched five innings of one-hit ball with five strikeouts to earn the victory.

Radtke bunted for a hit in the first, scoring on Kleinfeldt’s two-out single up the middle. Kleinfeldt added a sacrifice fly in the second and Payton Quest made it 3-0 with a run-scoring double. Aubrey Lepak then chipped in an RBI single.

Haydenn Sellnow, Kleinfeldt and Quest produced consecutive RBI singles in the fourth to make it 9-0. Lily Doerr and Kleinfeldt doubled home runs in the fifth and Wollin contributed an RBI triple.

Lake Mills faces Poynette, which is 4-2 in the league, on the road Tuesday and at home on Friday to cap conference play needing one victory for an outright conference championship. Lodi is 5-3 in league play.
