Commissioners allocate funds to dog shelter, which has 'run out of money to operate'
The Ashland County commissioners made a transfer of $130,251 to Dog & Kennel for anticipated remaining year expenses. “The shelter has run out of money to operate and we are having to come out of general fund to take care of this,” said Commissioner James Justice at Thursday's meeting. “Hopefully to the end of the year.”

BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- Fantastic pieces of art were everywhere. The “gallery” was Applewood Elementary School, and the artists were in kindergarten to fifth grade. While most artists would be thrilled to have even a few people gazing at their work, these youngsters had hundreds and hundreds of people jamming the halls of the school to admire the variety and excellence of thousands of pieces of art produced this year.
