Jesse Flores pours his love for sports into his restaurant, Jesse's Burgers and Shakes . The building is painted in Columbia Blue, a nod to the Houston Oilers. There are also murals dedicated to legends from the Houston Rockets and Astros.

"Being a restaurant owner, it just made sense to put smash burgers and sports together," Flores said.

For March Madness, Flores is hosting a Perfect Picks Challenge . Flores said whoever gets the perfect bracket will win free burgers for life. If no perfect bracket is made, the best score will get free burgers for a month. The challenge closed on Thursday, March 20.

As for the NCAA tournament, Flores said he's cheering on the home team, "I'm definitely rooting for the U of H Coogs. Go Coogs!"

Jesse's Burgers and Shakes is located at 23020 Speed Street in New Caney.

This Three-Ingredient Chicken Tastes Like a Church Supper Classic

Some recipes earn their place in community cookbooks because they are dependable, affordable, and capable of feeding hungry people without exhausting the cook. This three-ingredient church supper chicken fits that tradition perfectly. The chicken bakes beneath a flavorful coating that helps keep the meat juicy while creating the kind of warm, comforting aroma associated with fellowship halls and Sunday dinners. There are no complicated marinades, hard-to-find seasonings, or multiple pans competing for counter space. Three ingredients go into the dish, and the oven turns them into a family-friendly meal that tastes much more involved. The finished chicken is tender, savory, and ready to share the plate with nearly any traditional side already planned.

This Macaroni Salad Knows Why It Disappears First

Macaroni salad can be forgettable when it is merely cold pasta covered in dressing, but this version earns attention with a careful balance of sweet, tangy, creamy, and crunchy. Tender macaroni provides the familiar base, while crisp vegetables interrupt the softness and bring freshness to every scoop. The dressing coats the pasta generously without flattening the other flavors, delivering the nostalgic deli-counter quality people expect while tasting far more personal than something purchased by the pound. A touch of sweetness softens the tang and makes the salad especially friendly beside smoky barbecue, salty meats, and spicy dishes. After chilling, the ingredients settle together and the dressing moves into the pasta, creating the creamy consistency that makes people take a much larger spoonful than they originally intended.

These Little Smokies Found the Sauce Everyone Wants

Lil Smokies are already dependable party food, but coating them in Southern-style honey mustard gives the familiar appetizer a sweet, tangy personality that stands out from the usual barbecue sauce. The sausages bring smoky, savory flavor, while the sauce moves between golden sweetness and mustard bite without leaning too far in either direction. As everything cooks together, the glaze clings to each little sausage and becomes glossy enough to make the serving bowl look irresistible. Every bite is warm, sticky, and easy to pick up with a toothpick, which is exactly what crowded gatherings require. They are substantial enough to satisfy hungry guests but small enough to encourage repeated trips back to the slow cooker. The combination feels familiar immediately, yet the honey-mustard twist gives people something new to notice after the first bite.

These Cheesecake Balls Are Dangerous Straight From the Fridge

Peanut butter cheesecake already sounds indulgent, but rolling it into small chocolate-covered bites makes the temptation much easier to encounter repeatedly. The centers are creamy, rich, and tangy enough to taste like cheesecake rather than ordinary candy, while peanut butter adds its unmistakable salty depth. A smooth chocolate coating forms a delicate shell around the filling, creating a satisfying snap before the soft center takes over. Because the balls are chilled, their texture remains firm enough to pick up while melting gradually as you eat them. They look polished on a dessert tray and require no plates, forks, or careful slicing. That individual format may suggest portion control, although the recipe makes no promises about what happens after someone discovers how conveniently the container fits inside the refrigerator.

Seven Ingredients Turn a Bag of Pretzels Into the Dessert Everyone Breaks Another Piece From

Pretzels usually live in the snack cabinet, but give them chocolate and peanuts and suddenly they’re competing with everything on the dessert table. These chocolate peanut pretzel bars hit that sweet-and-salty combination from every direction: crunchy pretzels, rich chocolate, nutty peanuts, and enough sweetness to hold the whole thing together. Every bite has a little snap and crunch instead of the one-note softness you get from another pan of brownies. And with only seven ingredients, there’s no long shopping list standing between you and the finished pan. Cut them neatly into bars for a party tray or leave the pieces a little rustic for the dangerous “I’m only taking a small one” approach that somehow leads to three trips back to the kitchen.
