Trapeze school helps you reach new heights

2024-06-14

For the more athletic adventurer this summer, you may want to consider trapeze classes.

The mission of I FLY Trapeze is to introduce children and adults to the amazing world of trapeze flying.

You, too, can learn to "fly and catch" before you know it.

I FLY's Anthony Rosamilia shows you the ropes in this Localish report.

I use AI to help draft these articles. Every recipe and every fact in them is checked before publishing. The call came Thursday evening, and the grocery list started forming before the receiver hit the cradle. A full weekend meant at least two real dinners. Dorm cafeterias in the 1960s and 1970s ran to gray canned vegetables and thin beef stew sitting under a heat lamp, and a mother running her mental inventory of what her kid had not eaten in weeks had a lot of territory to cover.

This Oil Was Used for Hair Growth Before Minoxidil Existed

Rosemary has been used for scalp and hair health for generations, long before minoxidil became the standard treatment. In 2015, researchers actually put rosemary oil head-to-head against minoxidil in a clinical trial, and the results got people talking. I use a rosemary-infused oil regularly, partly for that history and partly because it just feels nice on the scalp. 😊

This Lemon Cake Does Something in the Oven That Looks Like You Worked Much Harder

Some desserts earn attention with frosting and decorations. Lemon custard cake does it by quietly turning one batter into something far more interesting while it bakes. The top becomes light, tender, and golden while underneath, a soft, creamy lemon custard forms with that bright citrus flavor cutting through every rich spoonful. It’s almost like getting cake and pudding in the same dessert, with no need to make separate fillings or stack complicated layers. Served slightly warm, the custard feels velvety and comforting; chilled, it becomes cool, creamy, and refreshing. Either way, that contrast between fluffy cake and silky lemon underneath is what makes the first forkful such a surprise.

I Stopped Using Canned Biscuits After Trying These Air Fryer Ones

Canned biscuits are quick, but nothing beats a fresh biscuit with a crisp outside and a light, flaky middle. These come out of the air fryer in just 10 minutes. These are classic Southern biscuits made with cold butter, buttermilk, and pantry staples. The air fryer gives them golden, crisp edges and a fluffy center, and they taste every bit as good as oven-baked.

Made These Cowboy Cookies on a Whim and Now My Family's Obsessed

I mixed up a batch of these one cool afternoon with no real plan, and the cookie jar was empty by morning. Now they are the first thing my family asks for when the weather turns.

My Grandma Cooked Cabbage in Bacon Grease Every Fall, and I Just Found Her Recipe

My grandma made fried cabbage every fall when the cabbage heads were ready in her garden. I can still picture that big skillet sitting on the stove, waiting for supper. I keep her same base of bacon drippings and tender cabbage, but I add onion, garlic, and sweet red pepper for a little more depth. I also use Napa cabbage, which turns tender faster than green cabbage without a long simmer. The whole thing comes together in one skillet in about 35 minutes and serves 6.

Five-Minute Fudge Is the Kind of Old-School Shortcut Worth Keeping Around

Homemade fudge sounds like the sort of candy that requires a thermometer, perfect timing, and somebody’s handwritten family recipe telling you exactly when to stop stirring. This Paula Deen-inspired 5-minute version goes in the opposite direction. It’s all about getting that rich, creamy chocolate payoff without turning candy-making into an afternoon project. The mixture comes together quickly, then settles into dense, smooth squares that look right at home in an old-fashioned candy tin. Each piece is rich enough to satisfy with just a few bites—although that rarely stops anyone from cutting a second sliver. It’s the kind of recipe that makes sense when the chocolate craving hits unexpectedly or you suddenly remember you promised to bring something sweet tomorrow.

Crescent Rolls Make This Apple Pie Almost Too Easy

Classic apple pie fills the kitchen with cinnamon, butter, and baked fruit, but producing a traditional double crust requires more time than many evenings can spare. Crescent-roll dough provides a shortcut that still bakes into golden, flaky layers around warm apples and cozy spice. The fruit softens and releases its juices while the dough becomes buttery at the edges and tender where it meets the filling. Every serving carries recognizable apple-pie flavor without rolling flour across the counter or worrying whether homemade pastry will cooperate. The finished dessert looks rustic, smells wonderful, and reaches the table quickly enough to make pie possible on an ordinary weeknight.
