Baseball players buddy up with athletes of all abilities in 'The Miracle League'

2024-05-30

The Miracle League of Gloucester County gives athletes of all abilities a chance to play ball.

And this time, they got a chance to form special bonds with their high school buddies on the baseball field.

Students from Paul VI High School's baseball team filled the field along with players from the Main Street Nukes.

They cheered on batters, helped outfielders, and inspired baserunners to reach home plate.

The Miracle League of Gloucester County welcomes any child from the ages of 4-21 who has a disability or is currently enrolled in the Gloucester County Special Services School District.

That shift, from long-lit evenings to pitch dark before the table was set, sent cooks straight to the oven or the big pot on the back burner. The cold came in with the dark, and something had to push back.

7 Dishes Irish-American Grandmothers Made in the 1950s and 1960s

I use AI to help draft these articles. Every recipe and every fact in them is checked before publishing. Sunday in an Irish-American parish neighborhood had a shape to it. Mass let out, the family walked home, and the kitchen was already working, with a pot of corned beef or bacon on the boil and bread either cooling on the counter or about to go into the oven. In South Boston, Chicago's Bridgeport, and the Bronx, the midday Sunday meal was the week's main event, not the evening one. Dinner meant something on the table by one o'clock.
