Using industry-standard cameras, mixers, sound boards, and professionals, the students at Technical College High School (TCHS) are the latest crop of future content creators ready to make their mark on multimedia.

TCHS is a public high school specializing in career and technical education for students in grades 10-12.

In this class, the Digital Media and Sound Communication program, students are preparing for roles in a multitude of media platforms.

They are learning about animation, sound mixing, and video production among many disciplines.

Israel Peterson is one such student.

A second-year vet in the program, music has always been a part of his life.

"This class has really taught me a lot," Peterson explains. "Creating audio, mixing audio, creating avenues for a future career. As we say we're mastering. It's really helped me refine my skills and my craft and it shows through all aspects of my music production."

The class is taught by Professor Jamie Brown.

"One thing about this class is it's a very one-on-one connection between student and teacher; definitely gets personal," Peterson says.

Recently, students were creating a short film, mixing a music track on the soundboard, collaborating on future projects and having a lot of fun.

7 Christmas Candies Mothers Made at the Kitchen Table

I use AI to help draft these articles. Every recipe and every fact in them is checked before publishing. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas from the 1950s into the 1980s, the kitchen in plenty of American homes shifted into a different gear. Cookies went first, then candy, and candy was a different kind of work. It called for a thermometer, the heaviest pot you owned, a marble slab or a sheet of buttered foil, and real attention. Women swapped these recipes on index cards at the church bazaar or through the small spiral-bound cookbooks their church and club auxiliaries printed and sold. When the candy was done it went into a tin on wax paper, stacked in layers by type, and passed along to neighbors or kept on the counter through the holiday.

That Can of Pineapple in the Pantry Could Be the Best Thing on the Dessert Table

A can of pineapple doesn’t look particularly exciting sitting on the pantry shelf, but bake it into soft cake bars and suddenly it has everyone asking what you brought. These pineapple cake bars are moist and tender with juicy tropical sweetness running through every bite, then a creamy coconut drizzle takes them straight into old-fashioned potluck-dessert territory. The pineapple keeps the bars from tasting dry or heavy, while coconut adds a rich finish that makes a simple square feel much more special than the effort suggests. They’re bright, sweet, and just messy enough around the edges once that drizzle settles over the top. Best of all, there’s no layer cake to frost, no individual cupcakes to decorate, and no complicated presentation required before people start reaching for seconds.

Five-Minute Fudge Is the Kind of Old-School Shortcut Worth Keeping Around

Homemade fudge sounds like the sort of candy that requires a thermometer, perfect timing, and somebody’s handwritten family recipe telling you exactly when to stop stirring. This Paula Deen-inspired 5-minute version goes in the opposite direction. It’s all about getting that rich, creamy chocolate payoff without turning candy-making into an afternoon project. The mixture comes together quickly, then settles into dense, smooth squares that look right at home in an old-fashioned candy tin. Each piece is rich enough to satisfy with just a few bites—although that rarely stops anyone from cutting a second sliver. It’s the kind of recipe that makes sense when the chocolate craving hits unexpectedly or you suddenly remember you promised to bring something sweet tomorrow.
