The Haine's Shoe House is a unique Airbnb location that lets guests live like the old woman who lived in the shoe nursery rhyme.

The shoe house is located in Hellam Township, just under two hours from Philadelphia.

The house was originally built in 1949 as an advertising piece for a local businessman, Mahlon Haines.

"He had a chain of shoe stores located all across the northeast", says co-owner Naomi Brown "he calls himself the shoe wizard."

The Airbnb has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with each of the bedrooms named after different components of the shoe.

These Ritz Cracker Sandwiches Vanish Before the Party Starts

Ritz Party Sandwiches transform familiar buttery crackers into warm, savory appetizers that are exactly the right size for grabbing from a crowded table. Cheese and flavorful sandwich fillings sit between pairs of crackers, creating miniature bites with a crisp exterior and rich center. As they bake, the cheese melts, the filling warms, and the crackers become even more aromatic without losing the delicate texture that makes Ritz crackers so recognizable. Each small sandwich delivers salt, butter, cheese, and savory flavor in one or two bites, which explains why people rarely stop after taking only one. The recipe does not require elaborate pastry, specialty bread, or hours of preparation, yet the completed tray looks more thoughtful than simply opening a box of crackers. It is party food built around convenience without tasting like the cook took an obvious shortcut.

Ground Beef Becomes Sunday Dinner Under This Gravy

Hamburger Steak and Gravy turns an everyday package of ground beef into the kind of meal associated with old diners, family kitchens, and Sunday suppers. The beef is shaped into seasoned patties and browned until the surfaces develop a savory crust. Tender onions cook in the same pan, collecting the flavor left behind by the meat before becoming part of a rich gravy. As the patties finish cooking in that sauce, they remain moist and absorb the onion flavor surrounding them. The result feels much more substantial than an ordinary hamburger without a bun. Each plate receives a proper portion of beef and enough gravy to cover whatever is served underneath, demonstrating how browning, onions, and a well-made pan sauce can make an affordable ingredient feel generous.
