Bank of Texas Vice President of Corporate Banking for North Dallas Marian Haidari doesn’t sugarcoat it. After 20 years in banking, building a career while raising two daughters, her advice to other working mothers is blunt. "There's no such thing as work-life balance," she says. "Just kind of learn how to prioritize your priorities and what's important to you. Just take it one day at a time." Family First, By Design Marian moved to McKinney from Caracas, Venezuela, in 1999, when her father, a pilot, took a job that brought the family to North Texas, where relatives were already settled. She went to McKinney High School, then went to college and met her husband during her first semester. They married in 2007 and have two daughters, ages 16 and 13. She has lived in McKinney for nearly 27 years. From the start, motherhood was not something she saw as competing with her career. It was simply part of the plan. "I knew when I was younger, I knew I wanted to get married and have a family and have kids," she says.
