“Menopause The Musical” is a hot time in Davenport

Menopause The Musical, now celebrating its 25th year, has evolved into a movement of women who deal with life adjustments starting around 40 by embracing each other and what’s to come. What started with 76 women in an Orlando perfume shop-turned-theater laughing, dancing and celebrating menopause for the first time has become a global movement. The musical has shattered the stigma around menopause and turned a once-taboo topic into a badge of honor.
The musical is set in a department store, where four women meet while shopping for a black lace bra at a lingerie sale. They notice similarities among one another and begin joking about hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, weight gain and more. The women form a sisterhood and a unique bond with the entire audience as they rejoice in celebrating that menopause is no longer “The Silent Passage.”
Playwright Jeanie Linders created Menopause The Musical, inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, to celebrate women at every stage of "The Change." The 90-minute production gets guests out of their seats and singing along to parodies from classic pop songs of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.
The original Menopause The Musical debuted in Orlando, Florida, and ran off-Broadway for four years. It was performed for over 1,500 audiences, followed by a U.S. national tour that is still running. It opened internationally in the United Kingdom in 2007 and has been performed in Australia, South Korea, Brazil, France, Slovenia and many other countries. It is the longest-running musical in Las Vegas history, performed nightly at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Tropical Storm Rachel Expected to Impact Southern California and Surrounding States | Complex Setup
Once again, the setup remains to be very complex, so it is no surprise that the track remains difficult to pin down with now almost two areas of shift possible. A cutoff low, an upper level trough, and what remains of Rachel all have to interact, with their timing and positioning playing a major role in how this unfolds. Even small changes could shift where the deepest moisture moves, where the lifting mechanism is, where thunderstorms develop, and which areas receive the heaviest rainfall. That is why individual model runs can show noticeably different outcomes. Confidence should improve as these features evolve, but the exact track and rainfall totals still have room to change still.
