Rock Island County

Center for Independent Living will hold Senior & Disability Expo in Rock Island

The Illinois Iowa Center for Independent Living will hold its 16th Senior and Disability Expo on Friday, Sept. 11, at Bally’s Convention Center, Rock Island, from 9 a.m. until noon, a news release says.

The event will have numerous information booths and vendors, and is free to the public. It will include a continental breakfast and other refreshments.

Vendors will share information on health care, transportation, housing, and other services available in western Illinois and Eastern Iowa.

The Illinois Attorney General’s office will provide information on the latest scams targeting seniors, including AI. The Lions Foundation of Illinois will conduct vision and hearing screenings. There will be five drawings for $100 gift cards. The event will conclude with door prizes and a grand prize hotel stay plus two meals.
