Auburn's Taylor lets bat, as well as her arm, do the talking for Trojans' first sectional title
WILLIAMSVILLE — Meena Taylor did everything she could for the Auburn softball team with her pitching arm. It was time for her bat to do some damage. With one on and one out in the top of the ninth inning, the junior hammered the first pitch of her at-bat over the fence in right field to give the Trojans a two-run lead. In the bottom of the same inning, with the tying run at third and the winning run at first base, Taylor polished off the Class 2A Williamsville Sectional championship win by striking out Stanford Olympia's Emma Books.

Bill to require tagging for human remains passes House
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A bill to further regulate the funeral home industry has passed one of the chambers in the Illinois statehouse. The proposal filed in November by State Senator Doris Turner (D-Springfield) would require creating a tagging system with chain of custody documentation for all human remains for any death that happens in Illinois. The bill passed the House unanimously Tuesday.
