A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Maplewood on Monday morning, officials said. The 28-year-old woman was hit at 9:10 a.m. on the 1400 block of Springfield Avenue, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday. The Irvington resident’s identity was not released pending family notifications.

Suspected protester spotted scaling George Washington Bridge causing traffic delays
At least one man was spotted scaling the George Washington Bridge Saturday afternoon — causing traffic delays as the NYPD attempted to coral the climber. Police called for airbags and could be seen on the south side of the Manhattan tower as they tried to get the person. Plainfield man sentenced to 40 years for girlfriend's murder
A 24-year-old Plainfield man has been sentenced to 40 years in state prison for the 2020 strangulation death of his 19-year-old girlfriend. Bryan Gonzalez Martines, was sentenced May 15 to four decades in state prison by Union County Superior Court Judge Thomas Isenhour, Union County Prosecutor William A.
