Two arrested in separate Saturday night shootings
According to officials, two men were arrested in separate shootings Saturday night – one in Yuba City and another in Sutter – with neither resulting in any deaths. In the first shooting incident of the night, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call regarding shots that were fired at about 9:28 p.m. around the 1600 block of Edwards Lane in Yuba City. Officials said the person who reported the incident heard about 10 gunshots near a residence on Edwards Lane.

Oscar Lecona Mendoza, 24, of the 1200 block of Northgate Drive in Yuba City was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 6:23 a.m. on Friday under suspicion of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or partner and child abuse with gross bodily injury. He was booked into the Sutter County Jail.

Excitement was in the air Saturday night at Marysville Raceway. A total of 51 cars participated in championship point race No. 7. Leading the way with the most cars were the Turn-Key ATM Services Hobby Stocks with 22. A total of 15 winged 360 sprint cars joined 14 of the Dirt Solutions Crate Sprints. The winners included Dawson Hammes in the 360 sprints, Koa Crane in the Crate Sprints, and Kyle Cheney in the Hobby Stock division. It was Hammes’ first win of the season while Crane won his third main event and Cheney picked up his second win of the season.

Coroner identifies victim in fatal road rage shooting
GREENWOOD, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified a man killed Tuesday during a road rage incident on I-20. Another driver fatally shot Gurpreet Singh Judge, 36, of Yuba City, Calif., on April 23.
