LITTLE FALLS, NJ - ASCEND NJ , a cannabis retail dispensary, will call Little Falls home. The dispensary, located at 655 Route 46, will offer a variety of cannabis products alongside a drive-thru option for customer convenience. This new establishment, which will replace the Burger King, aims to redefine the retail cannabis experience with a focus on efficiency and accessibility.
The drive-thru window at ASCEND NJ will enable customers to place orders and collect their purchases without needing to leave their vehicles. Customers can either make appointments or place orders online, scheduling designated time slots to ensure a smooth transaction process. The drive-thru system is designed to handle a limited number of appointments to maintain efficiency, with additional measures in place to ensure a positive customer experience.
Customers will also be able to enter the dispensary and make a purchase inside.
Operating with a maximum of 17 employees, ASCEND NJ will implement staggered shifts to accommodate peak hours. The dispensary's hours of operation are set from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with potential adjustments pending local regulations. Security measures, including surveillance cameras, panic buttons, and compliance with Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) guidelines, will be enforced to uphold safety standards.
In terms of infrastructure, ASCEND NJ will maintain the existing building shell and parking lot layout to the extent possible. Exterior changes will include the installation of opaque window film for privacy and the replacement of the pickup window with a secure transfer window resembling a bank drive-thru. Interior features such as a secure vault, keycard-accessed server area, and storage space will be implemented to ensure compliance and security.
A recent traffic impact study indicated that ASCEND NJ is expected to generate less traffic compared to the previous fast-food establishment. Queuing of vehicles at the pickup window is not anticipated to be a significant issue. The site currently provides 39 parking spaces, with minor adjustments planned to accommodate necessary infrastructure changes, such as the addition of a trash enclosure.
