Kasandra Marie Kuhl, 25, Little Falls, was sentenced in Morrison County District Court to 88 days in local confinement and supervised probation for five years and fined $50 for one felony count of second-degree assault and one felony count of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. One felony count of third-degree assault was dismissed.

If Kuhl breaks the conditions of her supervised probation for the assault charges, which include no alcohol or controlled substance use, completing a cognitive behavioral program and following all recommendations from an anger management evaluation, she faces up to 39 months in a correctional facility. If Kuhl breaks the conditions of her supervised probation for the possession charge, which include similar conditions, she faces up to 17 months in a correctional facility.

The assault charges stem from a Nov. 12, 2023 incident, when the Little Falls Police Department received a report on an assault near a residence on Second Avenue Northeast in Little Falls. It was reported a man and Kuhl assaulted a victim.

According to the report, an officer responded to the report and located the victim sitting in a chair near the front of a residence on Second Avenue Northeast. The victim’s face had a large swollen bump on his left cheek and under his left eye. The victim was attempting to wipe blood off his face with a towel. His clothes were stained with blood. The officer dispatched an ambulance to the scene immediately.

The officer spoke to the victim regarding what happened. The victim said he was assaulted by the man and Kuhl. The man was carrying a pellet gun and Kuhl was carrying a baseball bat. The man shot the victim in the face several times with the pellet gun and then Kuhl struck him in the face and arm with the baseball bat, according to the report.

The victim’s girlfriend was present while the assault occurred and observed what happened. She called the police and the man and Kuhl fled the scene. Per the report, there was a baseball bat laying on the ground where the assault occurred and the victim said this was the bat Kuhl used to strike him.

According to the report, an ambulance arrived at the scene and advised the victim he needed to go to the hospital. He was transported to the hospital for medical care. Medical staff informed the officer that the victim had a BB lodged in his head and hand, and his nose was broken.

Law enforcement officers searched for the man and Kuhl and located them in a camper trailer behind a residence on First Street Northwest, per the report. Both Kuhl and the man were placed under arrest for the assault. Both of them allegedly declined to give a statement.

Law enforcement applied for a search warrant for the camper trailer. Inside the trailer, drugs were located that tested positive for methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana. Officers also discovered a black carbon dioxide-powered Glock-style BB gun and .177 caliber BBs, the report said.

The possession charge stemmed from a Nov. 13, 2023 incident.
