(NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series on April 18th featured VCSU pianist Dr. Ozzie Johnson and Music Education Student Tara Dahl entertaining the crowd on a 1860s Arlington Square Grand Piano (Boston) owned by Lura Livonia Perrine and brought to Valley City in the 1890s when she came to teach at the new college in Valley City. It’s one of the first objects donated to the museum when it was founded in 1930.
Nadeau Sisters Going to Miss International Competition

Valley City Public Works City Parking Lots Notification
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Public Works will be crack sealing remaining city owned parking lots on Monday, April 24th weather permitting. Motorists are being reminded that there will be NO PARKING in the Post Office parking lot, Memorial/Vets parking lot & the VFW/Captains Pub parking lot from 5am-9am on Monday, April 24th. VCPS Freeze Administrators Salaries, Cut a Few Girl Activities
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Josh Johnson made a recommendation to freeze the annual raises of administrators in the upcoming school year. He had one exception, $3,000 increase for the Business Manger next year. The school board unanimously approved of the motion to freeze administrators salaries for the 2024-2025 school year.

A fun family event will be held Sunday, May 5th, after the VCHS prom. The 3rd Annual Spring Fling is being held on Sunday, May 5th. The Spring Fling family dance will be held at the HAC underneath the the lights of prom. Valley City High School prom is set for May 4th and to make the best use of all of the beautiful decorations, VCHS junior parents decided to create an event for all families to enjoy. The dance will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. and is open to families with those in preschool to 6th grade. There will be DJ music to dance too, as well as lots of selfie stations to take pictures to last a lifetime.
