Lane restriction Wednesday on Route 15 in Union Township, Union County
Update: The work has been postponed to Thursday, May 16 due to forecasted rain on Wednesday. Winfield, Pa. — A lane restriction will be in place Wednesday, May 15 on Route 15 northbound in Union Township for pavement testing. The pavement testing will be performed on Route 15 northbound between the Snyder / Union County line and the Route 15 entrance ramp from the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) River Bridge. Drivers can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted where work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., weather permitting. Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for lane shifts, and drive with caution through the work zone.

Williamsport, Pa. — A local man hired to fix a recently widowed woman's ceiling failed to show up for the job despite taking advance payment for materials, police say. Jason Robert Yahn, 40, of Williamsport, the owner of “Phase up Contracting” took $300 from the 78-year-old woman, according to Officer Andrew Stevens. Woman killed in crash in Lycoming County
Trout Run, Pa. — A 40-year-old woman of Trout Run was killed Monday when her vehicle went off a windy mountain road and down an embankment in Gamble Township. Maralea A. Cook died as a result of injuries from the crash around 3:15 p.m. May 6, according to Trp. Thomas Spagnuolo of state police at Montoursville. Police say Cook was traveling north in a 2013 BMW when she lost control of a vehicle on Sugar Camp Road as she was negotiating a left curve near the intersection with Chaapel Mountain Road. The vehicle hit a tree and then went down a steep embankment. The Lycoming County Coroner's Office and Willing Hand Hose Co. #1 assisted at the scene.
