Suspected protester spotted scaling George Washington Bridge causing traffic delays
At least one man was spotted scaling the George Washington Bridge Saturday afternoon — causing traffic delays as the NYPD attempted to coral the climber. Police called for airbags and could be seen on the south side of the Manhattan tower as they tried to get the person. The incident unfolded just before noon and caused at least 90 minutes worth of delays due to the police activity, the Port Authority wrote on X. Plainfield man sentenced to 40 years for girlfriend's murder
A 24-year-old Plainfield man has been sentenced to 40 years in state prison for the 2020 strangulation death of his 19-year-old girlfriend. Bryan Gonzalez Martines, was sentenced May 15 to four decades in state prison by Union County Superior Court Judge Thomas Isenhour, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James T. Abney announced.
