FORSYTH, Mo–A handful of Ozark area high school baseball teams are still alive in their hopes for a state championship.

Wheatland has advanced to the Class 1 state semifinals.

Willard and Glendale have quarterfinal games in Class 5 and Class 6 Saturday.

Thursday night in Forsyth, the Panthers and Licking were battling in a Class 3 quarterfinal.

And it was anything but a pitcher’s duel.

Licking scored 5 runs in the first.

Forsyth scored 5 runs in the third.

It was tied at 11 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Kale Cook belted a walk off single to right center.

Licking wins 12-11 and advances to the state final four for second straight season.
