LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) — On Friday, May 3, Greenbrier Valley Off-Road Biking Association invites the community to a launch party at the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center (905 Washington St. W., Lewisburg) from 5–7 p.m.

GVORBA board members and partners will discuss the goals and initiatives of this brand-new non-profit organization whose mission is to create, enhance, and preserve exceptional trail experiences for mountain bikers in the Greenbrier Valley. Attendees will learn about trail development and bike facility projects underway and planned for the near future. Organizers will share information about upcoming volunteer opportunities, group rides, and all the benefits of GVORBA membership. Guest speakers will discuss what’s happening in Greenbrier County and across the state in trail development, the growing field of competitive racers emerging from the region, and how our cities benefit by supporting outdoor recreation tourism.

GVORBA is a local chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) which works to ensure everyone across the U.S. has access to great trails—from close-to-home rides to iconic, backcountry experiences.

“There’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of the mountain bike community in West Virginia. We look forward to sharing big announcements about what’s coming soon and what we think is possible. We hope lots of people come out and decide to join us,” says GVORBA chair, Sarah Elkins.

Thanks to generous donations from Hawk Knob Cidery, Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company and the Country Vintner, GVORBA will serve tasty beverages to start your Friday evening off right. For more information about the event, contact Sarah Elkins at sarah@sarahelkins.com .
