Two shutouts in AAA semi-finals
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - It was absolute domination by Cabell Midland and George Washington Thursday night in the WV Class AAA semi-finals. The fourth ranked Patriots belted out 20 hits and beat number one seed Martinsburg by a final of 17-0. GW pitcher Bryson Hoff threw a two hitter over five innings. In the second game, the Knights beat Martinsburg 8-0 behind ten strikeouts by Kenyon Collins.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Class AAA boys state baseball championship game was as good as advertised as Cabell Midland edged George Washington 3-2 Saturday morning. It’s back to back championship for the Knights who finished the year with a 27-9 record. Jared Nethercutt was the winning pitcher after going 6 and a 1/3 innings while striking out four. GW’s Eli Smith was equally impressive in relief with eight strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings and allowed just one run on two hits.
