Wednesday morning car crash kills one person, injures another in Leetsdale

LEETSDALE ― Allegheny County Police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred along Route 65 Wednesday morning.

According to police reports, the crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. when an SUV had a head-on collision with a pickup near the intersections of Ohio River Boulevard and Ferry Street. Following the crash, police restricted the northbound traffic to one lane and the southbound traffic was diverted onto Beaver Street.

The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital, where he later died, but the driver of the truck was in stable condition Wednesday afternoon. Police have not yet released the names of either driver involved in the crash.
