Bikefest is revving up in Leesburg. Other events include the Mount Dora Blueberry Festival and the Drag Boat Races in Eustis .
Note: Bikefest isn't just for bikers. A diverse array of bands and musical acts will be performing that should appeal to a wide swath of music lovers. There's even ska band, Fat Timmy , playing this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. (I would love to see bikers skanking to ska music.)

🏞 Gala brings big money for 'Road to Recovery'
Hand in Hand Recovery, a faith-based residential long-term recovery program, celebrated its decade anniversary last week.
The organization assists people suffering with addictions who cannot afford treatment. The program offers a yearlong in-house program in three stages, a life skills and faith-based curriculum and five homes with a total of 52 beds.
Hand in Hand's April 18 event doubled as an initiative to add a 30-bed men’s facility to meet the growing need for low-cost addiction recovery, just one part of a project dubbed "Road to Recovery."
The Daily Commercial attended the event, along with many well-known locals.

✱ Note new location for the Leesburg City Commission meeting: The commission convenes today, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. at Venetian Center at 1 Dozier Court, Leesburg. Among the agenda items: Proposed changes to the future comprehensive land use map and rezoning property to allow for a planned retail and business development between the Honda dealership and College Drive on U.S. 441. 📓 The Lake County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Lake County Administrative Building in Tavares. The meeting can be viewed live through the lakecountyfl.gov website . To speak at the meeting, fill out a public input card located at the entrance to the meeting room and submit it to the clerk before the start of the meeting. A three-minute time limit will be imposed for each speaker. Click here for more information .
🍎 Become a teacher in Lake County: Lake County Schools will host a teacher job fair from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at East Ridge High School, 13322 Excalibur Road in Clermont.
